Below
is some of the information gleaned from forays and remote observation
about the Hasardi-Amorok Relic Ground:
Information
collected before hyperspace forays into region:
1.
The region of space is located in an interstellar region not far
from Thule, its dimensions (measuring from the force effect edge) is
approximately 7 light hours across and roughly spherical.
2.
The region of space is very dense with material, both natural and
artificial, estimates of the total mass of that region via hyperspace
sensing (traditional grav. measurements are disrupted by the effect
field) estimate an internal mass of 7.2 million, million tera-tonnes
(7.25 X 10^27kg), which is an absolutely huge amount of material,
however it is unknown how much natural material resides in this space.
3.
The distribution of material within the Hasardi-Amorok Relic
Ground is distinctly uneven, though there is a general increase in
density towards the centre. The periphery of the space is nearly devoid
of all large objects.
4.
Further hyperspace studies have revealed many large distortion
fields within the region separate to the external effect field, the
origins of these fields is not clearly known.
5.
The attraction between the objects in the region of space seems
to be regulated despite an increased central density
6.
Remote optical and other spectral measurements have been able to
discern some of the larger hulks with sufficient accuracy to compare
structure homology with other known wrecks, though a few Ancient ships
have been matched, most are unrecognizable.
7.
Remote observations have also noted dynamic effects within the
protected region of space, spectral analysis has explained some of the
observations, informing us that occasionally fusion drives are in
operation within the region, but also that very high-energy distortion
fields are being generated. Most observations of dynamic effects have
not been matched to any known event.
8.
Electronic emissions from nucleus of the space have been received
by external antennas, however no structured emission has yet been
received, the force effect field is though to mute most internal
signals.
Information
gleaned from Hyperspace foray missions
1.
The effect field can repulse a craft within in the main mass to
its periphery, this effect has meant that no mission so far has been
able to remain within Hasardi-Amorok Relic Space. The field is also
capable of specifically removing the intruding craft, suggesting some
intelligent oversight of the field effect.
2.
Certain secondary drives do have effect within the field, fusion
flame and cold gas work as expected allowing for some flybys and sample
return from some wrecks, but the field does not allow grappling with
wrecks, and therefore subsequent extraction of hulks.
3.
The object density within the nucleus is very high, possibly
higher than the mass estimation made to date. There also appears to be
some higher order structure to the Relic Ground, with open regions, and
clusters. Rapid deep scans from foray craft have mapped a lot of the
internal structure in rough detail. Repeated missions have also revealed
that the internal distribution of objects is quite dynamic, suggesting
the collected maps rapidly become inaccurate.
4.
Optical acquisition within the object dense zone have confirmed
design homology with other known sites, a great deal of the well
preserved ships seem to be Thule civilization in origin, there are also
a great number of possibly Derusai ships as well. The region also
contains many unrecognized designs. Initial design analysis has
suggested that many craft possess Federation unknown technology, this is
especially true of some of the larger structures.
5.
Isotopic analysis of local gases (fusion flame in origin) suggest
a complex history. Various dating techniques have failed to provide
accurate estimates of the age of the site. The best evidence so far
comes from isotopic analysis of Thule ships (by comparison with Thule
system isotopic abundance) suggests that these ships were introduced
into the site ~700,000 years ago.
6.
Internal emissions are very much stronger within the Relic ground
than external observations had us believe, the effect field therefore
acts also to damp signals in certain spectral regions.
7.
By consequence of confirming internal activity suggests that some
derelicts are still operational, it is unclear how these ships are
continuing to be powered.
8.
One foray mission reported a putative controlled distortion field
generation, this observation confirms the idea of an ‘Active Core’
at the centre of the Relic Ground. The generated field’s effect is
unclear.
9.
Near light propulsion on normal drives is partially achievable
within the field boundary as long as the direction of flight is away
from centre.
Future
investigatory missions:
Attempts
are being made to stabilize one gate termini within the effect field,
and hopefully to extract whole ships from the main debris near the
Active Core.
Other
attempts are being made to open up a computer exchange with working
Relic Ground craft, with hope of accessing computer cores.
It
is not thought that the controlling force within the Relic Ground means
these Federation missions any harm as it has allowed these flybys and
allowed brief investigation of some artifacts, it is judged that the
entity has more than sufficient power to prevent these observations if
it meant to, no mission has resulted in severe damage to craft or loss
of crew. However the relic ground is disrupting wormhole termini to be
created within it, and also preventing larger hyperspace jump drive
cores. |
