Sun Forge
Belt system Forge terrestrial material region
Planet Fabricor (surface conditions)

Belt system Forge outer material region
Asteroid colonies in the inner belt
Asteroid colonies in the outer belt

Forge is a very unusual system, the materials found throughout the system are in line with standard planetary formation compounds, but only one planet currently exists in system. To either side of this terrestrial planet there are great disks of planetary material, of a density almost unprecedented in the rest of federation space, and certainly never discovered in greater volume.

However the origins of the current system are still the greatest mystery, it appears that the sun once had great numbers of planets, which had then been dismantled in some great cataclysm, however one planet and its moons have been preserved, and seemingly this planet is the only one to have supported life.

There has been intelligent design in Forge’s past, all the countless asteroids have been swept into neat orbits so that the only planet is never endangered, it is also one of the few systems to contain artifacts of a past civilization, though the censoring duties in the last million years have all but removed most of the high technologies of the previous tenants to this system.

In modern times forge has become the premier construction facility in the federation, at first utilizing all the thousands of lumps of material throughout the system, then with the advent of infinite matter devices, as a home to hundreds of orbiting shipyards, and asteroid colonies. The life-bearing planet itself has also become scantly colonized, though its greatest interest is to the archaeologists, who try to work out what happened to this system.
