The
Trenoc of today have come through the better part of four million years
of evolution, mirroring a process similar from man’s ascent from the
hominids, through home erectus and homo habilis, to modern day homo
sapiens, with each step enhancing the nascent facilities of their new
sentience.
The
first identifiable creatures with which the Trenoc share resemblance to
stemmed from a quadruped animal about 4.5 million years ago, this the
first of the Trenoc pre-cursor species would be the only surviving
member of the family it descended from, as shortly after its emergence,
a small asteroid impact pushed the world’s climate into a cataclysmic
ice age.
This
first step along the Trenoc development, has been called by the
biologists, the ‘nascent Trenoc’, and was the last piece in the
puzzle of the origins of their own kind, without similar species to
compare to, the Trenoc’s notion of evolution from animals came late in
their society, as there was little evidence of precursor animals until
palaeontological remains were found. This first step had a rather
truncated lifecycle, with only the infant and breeder stages found,
almost entirely missing the Protector stage that is dominant in
today’s society. Evidence has shown that the breeders if the nascent
Trenoc quickly senesced after their fertile period, in effect evolution
had decided that it was more efficient to have a population of infant
producers than of intellect.
After
the nascent Trenoc we see three accepted steps towards the modern
Trenoc, the next step, the ‘ambulant Trenoc’ gave rise to a new
female form that allowed for bipedal locomotion, that allowed the
forward limbs to become more sophisticated and dextrous, however in this
turn of evolution the males still retain their quadruped habit. The
males in Trenoc evolution are viewed as evolutionary stable, there form
and design has little changed for hundreds of millions of years, many of
the advanced fauna of Trenoret has similarities to the Trenoc male,
these resemblances gave rises to early folklore considering males to be
earthly beings, from the animals, where as the females were considered
to be celestial, and the whole Trenoc lifecycle was considered as the
bond between earth and the heavens.
Although
the ambulant Trenoc were now free to walk on their hind limbs, and
develop their forward hands, they still did not have great deal more
intelligence than the nascent Trenoc. They lived in small family based
groups, that would develop to form the clans of Trenoc society, and
unfortunately possessed the fierce territoriality that would hold back
Trenoc civilization by a state of continuous warfare.
The
next two developments before the formation of the modern Trenoc
consisted of developing the Protector stage, the one that would give the
Trenoc their first true intellectual citizens. The first step was taken
by the ‘Hajahn Trenoc’ a race some 2 million years old, and like all
of the ‘precursor species’ not found alive today. The evidence that
was recovered about this stage in Trenoc evolution suggested that rather
than rapid senescence and death occurring to an old breeder, it would
continue to exist to serve the group by protecting the infants and
coordinating with the breeders. This ‘proto-protector’ would
continue to evolve more intelligence and strength to compensate for
it’s loss in reproductory ability.
The
last and final stage in Trenoc evolution, through the species that gave
the umbrella term to the later discovered earlier species, the
‘precursor Trenoc’, built upon the newly created Protector, imbuing
it with enhanced strength and intelligence, it was at this stage of
evolution did protectors finally take the controls of the family groups,
with their enhanced intelligence and life long experience, they became
the leader stage. This had considerable impact on the infant and breeder
stages, their respective lifetimes were reduced, with breeder stage
Trenoc being fertile for a shorter period of time.
The
modern Trenoc have exaggerated the features of the precursor Trenoc,
seeing an increase in brain volume, and extension in lifetime (apart
from males, which still remain pretty much the same throughout). There
is a great deal of speculation where further development will occur,
though in today’s technological age, where machines and skills have
replaced some of evolutionary pressures, the next development could be
the integration of machine, rather than mutation in genotype, something
that is already beginning to be observed. |
