The
needs of people have always been in conflict with the environment, and
people have always set about changing their surroundings, first
agriculture transformed the land, it was tamed, became a reliable food
source for a growing population, in later times land was returned to its
native state as people now desired to bring back nature, their
agriculture replaced by technology. Soon people desired to change barren
worlds, to bring them life, and so that they might explore their own
